1981/X MG MGB Roadster 1.8 convertible, 84293 miles, one previous owner, green with black interior, 1.8 twin carburetted engine, 4 speed manual gearbox with switchable overdrive. This car was one of the last MGB’s to come off the production line prior to the LE run-out cars. Supplied new and arriving at the MG dealership in Bedford in February 1981. The purchaser, a local solicitor, wanted to have the car registered on an X registration so the dealership kept the car in their showroom until it was registered on 1st August 1981. The car was initially registered to the solicitor practice and transferred to him personally on retirement. The original owner kept the car for 38 years until it was sold in 2019 to the second owner, a retired gentleman in a neighbouring village. During his ownership the car was rarely used and kept in a garage, it has sadly become available due to bereavement. A file containing virtually all the invoices records the history of the car. There is evidence in the history that the car was subject to body restoration work and respray in 1996 carried out by The Bucks MG Centre. I would describe this car as a very genuine, low ownership example in good usable condition.
